Did you know that Liverpool Airport is known by other names? It originally went by the name "RAF Speke" or "Speke Airport" since it was operated by the RAF during World War II. In 2001, its name became Liverpool John Lennon Airport in honour of the Beatles founding member on the 21st year anniversary of his death. It is the first ever airport in the UK to be named after a person.

Transport Information

The Liverpool John Lennon Airport can be easily accessed from different road networks: from the south via M53 and M56 motorways, and from the north, it can be accessed via M57 and M62 motorways. If you brought a car with you, you won't have problems with parking since the airport houses a lot of on-site car parks. If you're traveling by train, you have to take a bus from the airport to the different train stations across the city - the nearest station is around 2.2 miles away.
